Justin Bieber is the latest celebrity set to make the shift into the world of DJing, with the 20 year-old pop star signing up for a residency at Ibiza's Amnesia. Bieber will hit the decks at the famed nightclub every Thursday throughout July for his own "Bros 'N' Hoes" party, spinning hip-hop, R'N'B, and, according to the press release issued today, "a sprinkling of electro-house."
"We're thrilled to have the biggest pop star on the planet kick-start his DJ career with us," says Amnesia Ibiza's owner. "Whether we like it or not, dance music is now a global phenomenon, and there's room for commercial sounds to sit comfortably alongside the underground scene at Amenesia. This is the future - welcome to Ibiza 2014."
As for the young pop star himself, it appears he's chomping at the bit to begin his new side-project.
"My fans all know I've always had a love for DJing. I've been dedicating all my free time to making this dream become a reality, and now its time to reap the rewards of all the hard work. I'm ready for my fans to come with me on this next step. Just believe."
Justin Bieber is the second celebrity to land a residency at Amnesia, following on from Paris Hilton's successful 'Foam & Diamonds' night, which is scheduled for a second run this season.
