Two synth pop legends from a by-gone era are relevant once again at the hand of miracle worker, Stuart Price aka Jacques Lu Cont. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, also known as Pet Shop Boys, return with their new album ‘Electric’, the first on their own label x2, that’s been available for purchase since 16 July.
Price’s continued ability to rejuvenate ageing pop stars has been his calling card for over a decade. Best known for producing Madonna’s “Confessions on a Dance Floor” and Kylie Minogue’s “Aphrodite”, his involvement was pivotal in shaping the latest offering from the Pet Shop Boys.
Said Price, "Making 'Electric' was an exciting experience. We recorded it between Berlin, London and Los Angeles using various techniques between old school synth and drum machine programming and new school computer mangling.”
‘Electric’ features nine tracks in total - eight new songs as well as a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘The Last to Die’.
In this 25-minute behind-the-scenes video released yesterday the Pet Shop Boys talk about the making of their latest album. Also interviewed is the album's producer Stuart Price.
