EDM has been maneuvering itself into non-EDM specific events more and more recently. The latest move from SFX Entertainment’s Beatport is a partnership with pop-punk traveling festival Warped Tour. The two have just signed a three-year deal which will see Beatport play a bigger role in future editions of Warped Tour.
Beatport has already had a presence at Warped Tour in the past with a festival tent, which make sense because former From First to Last lead singer Sonny “Skrillex” Moore has since become a driving force in the EDM community.
Since being acquired by media conglomerate SFX Entertainment, Beatport has gone through a series of restructurings. It makes sense that SFX would want to better define its partnership with Warped Tour moving forward because of the new oversight as a result of the acquisition.
