Revelers at Sydney’s Secret Garden Festival had their fun cut short on the weekend on account of dangerous weather conditions. Torrential downpours forced event organizers to pull the plug on the Camden weekender, with headline artists Ryan Hemsworth and Softwar unable to take the stage.
A roof collapse at the Garden Stage proved to be the final straw for the Secret Crew, with the festival subsequently shut down before the finish line. No one was seriously injured in the collapse.
Good-guy incarnate Lancelot reached out to fans over Facebook to apologize for the cancellation:
"Hey everyone - myself and the band are really heart broken that we couldn't debut the live band show for you all last night at The Secret Garden Festival. The relentless rain really got the better of us and made it unsafe for the festival to continue. Not to worry, we will have a bigger and better live show prepared for next time x"
On a weekend which coincided with the introduction of NSW harsh new lock-out laws, a healthy police presence at the Camden Festival ensured proceedings went off without a hitch. Police searches and sniffer dogs were in full force, with 91 people and 33 vehicles searched.
