For March, Munich Club Harry Klein will devote its entire programme to female DJs, as well as change its name to Marry Klein in an effort to spread awareness about the challenges aspiring female DJs face. The club will also host a series of film screenings, including for Sounds Queer, a documentary about three female DJs living in Berlin, and workshops for female DJs, VJs and an Ableton tutorial, which runs on March 28th. The film Sounds Queer will be shown as part of DOK. fest, a high-profile German documentary festival, featuring Tama Sumo, who is also playing at the club on March 21st.

Along with Sumo (pictured), the programme will see a number of high profile female artists come through, including Dinky, Lakuti, Helena Hauff, Honey Dijon and La Fleur, and will also offer also offer emerging female DJs the chance to play the club's Münchner Kindl night, or Münchner Mädels on March 6th, which normally sees only male jocks enter. The club specifically asked more local female DJs to enter back in January, and so far, three have been selected.

"We would like to show that there is no need for the persistent under-representation of women on the schedule of clubs and festival timetables," the club said in a statemtnt. This is the third time the club has undertaken the Marry Klein moniker and concept since 2006.
