Sampling database WhoSampled recently ranked the most sampled songs and artists in the world using their extensive archives. Coming in at the top of the list, rather unsurprisingly, is James Brown, who has been sampled over 3,000 times, more than double that of the second place Public Enemy.
However the most sampled record of all time does not fall to the The Winston's "Amen Brother," which gave birth to the ubiquitous "Amen Break" used so often in electronic music like drum & bass and jungle and is often described as the most important 6 second drum loop in music. Instead, Beside's "Change The Beat," which has been sampled 1,267 times, took the top spot, with "Amen Brother" coming in second.
