Most of us would appreciate the chance to turn off our smartphones and take thew chance to have a break form the daily grind. But for those who just can't bear to be away from their digital communities can rejoice as reports unfold of Sol Wave House, the world's first Twitter experience hotel.
For those that love their digital personas, your every whim is catered for at Sol Wave House, a Tweetaholic paradise based on the Spanish island of Majorca. They've been open for about a year and incorporates its own virtual community called #SocialWave, there to use for communicating, interacting and flirting with each other. It's all controlled through a custyopm built web app available only within the building (using Wi-Fi) and can be used to securely send pictures, messages, find locations and even send virtual kisses.
Fantón, Sol Wave House's social media director, told TIME Magazine "He sees the community as a fun and interactive extension of what guests are already doing on their vacations — showing off their trip using social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram." There's lost going on at the hotel: #TwitterPoolParty on Fridays where you can drink a Twitter-inspired cocktail or shot. And when guests break the ice, there is the Twitter Party Suite. These private party suites host up to four guests and come with bubbly, blue balloons, hashtag licorice and a mirror that provokes a tweet-worthy moment. Guests can make requests to have their minibars restocked with #FillMyFridge and send food and drink orders to others near the pool by tweeting @SolWaveHouse.
