Start:Cue is breaking free of the bubble this weekend (shock! horror!), leaving Bondi behind and heading to the city - The Civic Underground to be precise. Headlining their first 'away' party is two of Sydney's finest locals, About Jack and Whitecat, who will be playing a back to back set for the Start:Cue faithful.

The party kicks off at 9pm and is completely free if you arrive before 10:30 - all you need to do is add Start:Cue as a friend on facebook and click "going" on the event page on Facebook to get your name on the guest list.

In anticipation of the upcoming party, Start:Cue's Tommy Rutherford threw a few questions at About Jack and Whitecat.

Describe your DJing style in 3 words.
 Jack & Tim
: Underground, FUN, Sub-Cutaneous.

Clubs or festivals? Jack & Tim
: We’re going to have to say festivals, nothing beats being outside in the sun sharing good times with music lovers, even the smell of a fresh cow pat, cant beat it!

The good things happening in the Sydney scene right now?
Jack & Tim
: There is a healthy amount of underground parties in Sydney right now which is great for the scene, sometimes its bumper to bumper sweaty, sweaty busy. Sometimes…tumbleweed.

The bad things happening in the Sydney scene right now? Jack & Tim: Extortionate International artist fees from greedy agents, a knock on effect to touring agents who then pass the good news on to promoters. Shit definitely rolls down hill!

The best DJ gig of your life? Jack & Tim
: Despite all the internationals we’ve had through and supported the last couple of years the 4-5 hours we banged out at Rmusic is well up there, it was absolutely class! Small festival, no bullshit, just funktion1, atmosphere and the family!

The track to get you warmed up this winter? Jack: Beach Walk – Basti Grub
. This little groover is the one for me this winter, I really get lost in this track, the warm textured percussion, the strings, the vocal, a very organic feel to it.

The track that currently gets the most plays? Tim: Luis Conte (Nick Curly Mix) – Darius Syrossian
. Absolutely un-relenting tech/house magic by Darius Syrossian, but it’s the Nick Curly remix that really takes you places here.

The track that got me out of bed this morning? Jack: Thank You Jack – Roman Fluegel
. A friend of mine sent this to me recently, its now my breakfast track, a non intrusive deep ambient re-rub porridge burner.

The best track by my favourite new artist? Tim:
Right – Quell. New EP by a housey cat called Quell on 2020 Recordings, tight little house banger!

The track to get the crowd back.? Jack:
 Millie Vanille – Green Velvet
. Still never fails get people moving!

The track I'd play at peak time Start: Cue 008? Tim: Blind Minded (Jordan Peak's Rouge Rework). Well as always that depends on what’s happening with the crazys on the dance floor BUT I’m keen to chuck this down!
