Drum and bass veteran Goldie will release a mix album as part of the Ministry of Sound‘Masterpiece’ series on 18th August. The album gives artists the opportunity to explore their own influences and inspirations by curating a three disc musical journey.
The three discs are titled ‘The Alpha’, ‘Journeyman’ and ‘Headzville’, and Goldie takes us from early inspirations such as Junior Murvin, Terry Callier and Soul II Soul to drum and bass classics from the likes of Zero B, Egyptian Empire and Roni Size. Disc 3 will showcase some of the best talent from Goldie’s own label Metalheadz, including dBridge, Commiz and Jubei.
Artists who have released mixes as part of the ‘Masterpiece’ series include David Rodigan, Andrew Weatherall, Fabio and Grooverider and Gilles Peterson.
