Earlier this week, a viral video of Kerri Chandler playing at the Rex Club in Paris was leaked to the web. It appeared he was angrily ranting at patrons about commercial music, stopping his set to yell at them about "David Guetta shit," and asking them to "get the fuck outta there."
This short clip, however, was taken out of context. The longer clip, posted below, shows that his comments were part of a longer hype session Kerri delivered re: underground house music. Today he released a statement via Twitter:
"I just want to make it clear that neither DJ Deep or anyone else of the Rex Club asked me to play commercial music. Some clips showed what I said out of context so I wanted to clear things up.
"What I said was not a response to DJ Deep or the staff of the Rex Club. It was near the end of the night and I wanted to go deeper. Rex has always let me play what I wanted and I look forward to returning soon. Thank you all for your support."
