After keeping his loyal followers waiting patiently for months on end in eager anticipation, Simion has finally released his most promising EP to date with "U+I," tipped to be the DJ's biggest release since remix of Ben Pearce's "What I Might Do." Like geeks queuing up impatiently at their local comic book store for the latest Marvel comic book strip, house enthusiasts everywhere are awaiting the big release date for "U+I."
Simion has returned to his open label imprint, Hedonism, for this latest mix and wants to ensure he follows up on the success of Berlin label OFF Recordings. Whilst working with OFF Recordings, Simion achieved three top ten records on Beatport including "Don't U", "Warning" and "Jack Your Body." If "U+I" can exceed these, Simion's return to Hedonism will be considered a success.
The EP opens with an upbeat and lively rhythm, heading into a euphoric melody backed by a bouncing bass – energetic enough for a peak time smasher, yet laid back enough to kick things up a notch in a warm up se. Though the real magic lies within the beautiful vocals, which enter the fray slowly, and bring the track home.
Betoko’s remix of "U+I" brings a darker feel that gets listeners to sit back, take in the moment and get lost in it’s hypnotic, almost tense melody. Verona house icons Paul C and Paolo Martini contribute remixes to this unique EP too. In a more orchestral opening, their remix provides more calming vocals to begin with before engaging the crowd in a tremendous bass.
Sankeys resident DJ Darius Syrossian and veteran house producer adds a progressive beginning to the track, which teases further addictive baselines, which explode into his signature jacking house sound, perfect for fist pumping like you know you want to.
With an array of styles produced in this EP, "U+I" looks set to help Simion further expand Hedonism as a label and a brand name, as each remix of "U+I" demonstrates it's own sense of uniqueness and electric energy. Simion is a rising talent amongst the DJ ranks and will certainly be a name to look out for this coming summer.
