In typical deadmau5 fashion, the Canadian DJ/producer included some of his trademark humor in his closing set on Saturday at Ultra Music Festival 2014. Taking over for Avicii who was rushed to the hospital earlier this week for emergency gallbladder surgery, deadmau5 did not hide his disapproval for Dutch artist Martin Garrix, whose hit track “Animals” was played during his debut main stage performance at the annual Miami festival.
deadmau5 took to Twitter earlier in the day to share his feelings about 17-year-old Garrix (as well as Avicii and his chart-topping track “Levels”), and hinted at some mischief to be expected during his set later that night.

It all came together when he mashed up “Animals” with childhood classic tune “Old MacDonald Had A Farm.” He followed this up with another mash-up of his “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” with Avicii’s “Levels.”
Tiesto’s called out deadmau5’s stunt on Twitter questioning whether the “tribute” track was a slight to his friend recovering in the hospital. The two argued back and forth about the performance.
