Vivid Live Festival has announced a stellar list of artists to perform at their Sydney extravaganza. Following on from the success of previous years, the ever-spectacular harbourside event will host a wealth of local and international talent from across the musical spectrum. Originally curated by Brian Eno and the late Lou Reed, Vivid has quickly become one of the biggest events on Sydney's social calendar. Now under the management of Director Fergus Linehan, the festival of lights and music once again promises to deliver a unique and thrilling experience.
Headlining the event will be 90s alternative favourites The Pixies. No strangers to Australian shores, the band return with two fresh new EPs under their belt. With a new lineup to boot, The Pixies will perform four intimate shows at The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.
Godfathers of electronic-pop the Pet Shop Boys will be on hand to take audiences back to the future. The band whose storied career includes 3 Brit Award wins and 6 Grammy nominations, recently became the most successful duo in British history (as determined by the Guinness Book of Records). The band's 13th studio album 'Electric' has rocketed to the top of the UK charts, and will see them headline the Modulation show at Carriageworks.
Local duo The Presets will perform, riding on the success of their latest single 'Goodbye Future'. The pair, better known as Kim Moyes and Julian Hamilton have gained iconic status in Sydney's electronic scene, with their much anticipated 4th album due later this year. The duo will be joined on stage by the Australian Chamber Orchestra in a performance which is sure to reveal new dimensions of either group's sound.
French maestro Giorgio Moroder will also feature, performing his futuristic brand of electronic house with the assistance of The Heritage Orchestra. In addition to these shows, the evergreen 74-year old will perform an exclusive DJ set, plus an audience Q & A.
