Sydney electronic trio Seekae have been hard at it over the past 12 months. Following the success of debut record ‘The Sound of Trees Falling on People’ and follow-up ‘+Dome’, the boys headed back to the studio to start work on their third long-player. Seekae created brand new buzz by way of last year’s heart-softening single ‘Another’. This delectable piece of ambient, downtempo electronica reminded everyone of just how talented these lads are.
And the news only gets better, with the band having just announced the title of their next release. As reported in the Herald Sun, ‘The Worry’ is due out in mid to late 2014, and if ‘Another’ is anything to go by, its sure to be a memorable one. To keep us hankering for more, the band have promised a follow-up single in the next few months by the name ‘Test and Recognise’. Stay tuned.
Before the album’s release, the boys have a couple of festival slots to fill. Seekae will be blowing minds at this weekend’s Golden Plains festival in Victoria, followed by a no-biggie performance at South by Southwest in Texas. The Sydney trio will be part of a healthy Aussie contingent, headed by Chet Faker, with Panama, Touch Sensitive, Trippy Turtle and Wave Racer also along for the ride. The bands will play as part of a two night showcase, hosted by Sydney label Future Classic at The Madison nightclub in downtown Austin. Read more here
While we here at Pulse wish the boys the greatest success abroad, we’re hoping we don’t have to wait too long for a full-length Australian tour for ‘The Worry’. In the meantime, Seekae have re-released their entire back catalogue on vinyl to keep us from going native. The limited edition 3LP super-deluxe collection is out through Future Classic, with some exclusive edits thrown in as locked grooves. Grab it while its hot!
