Back in November of 2011, Maya Jane Coles was still a fresh face on the global house scene. She had only just released what became her breakout hit on Real Tone Records, "What They Say," about a year before. And although she was certainly on a collision course with fame even then, her name didn't evoke the automatic response from fellow DJs, producers and fans alike quite like it does today.
So it's of little surprise then that Hypercolour reached back 2-and-a-half odd years, pulling the four track "Don't Put Me In Your Box" EP out of retirement. For the 2014 remix package, Hypercolour have enlisted some serious help. The EP hasn't been previewed anywhere as of yet, but we do know that edit treatment comes from from Bonobo, whom Maya recently reworked "First Fires" Ft. Grey Reverend for, as well as London-based soulful garage trio, Dark Sky, and Bristolian UK bass and techno producer, Kowton.
"Don't Put Me In Your Box" Remix EP will be see a February 24th vinyl release, and a March 15th digital release on Hypercolour.
