As the year draws to a close, it's natural to reflect, especially when it's been as interesting as 2013 has. Underground has become mainstream, mainstream has become pop, and while many fight over the meaning of terms like EDM and deep house, others push stoically forward, undeterred by major trends, continuing to do what they do best. So we've called upon a few of those in the later category to tell us what's kept them excited through these last 11 months. This time, Spencer Parker.
Beginning his production career in 2005, Parker's productions have been released on respected labels such as Tsuba, Liebe*Detail, Saved, Nite Grooves, Word and Sound, Buzzin' Fly, King Street, Ovum and Rekids, gaining support from the likes of, Dinky, Ricardo Villalobos, Radio Slave, Dixon, DJ Deep, Gerd Jansson and Zip. He's also played just about every club worth its salt, including Rex and Berghain/Panorama Bar, all while running 3 separate, vinyl only labels, of his own, including Work Them Records. So who better to get a taste of the year than this seasoned vet of techno.
