Aside from being incredibly interesting and insightful, the panels at the Electronic Music Conference in Sydney today have had their fair share of amusing moments. Case in point: the 'Crossing Over and Keeping Your Cool' discussion, where the likes of Chad Gillard from Future Classic, Vic Edirisinghe of Astral People, longstanding Aussie DJ Robbie Lowe and more chewed the fat on what it means to be a "sell out," amongst other issues. Then came question time from the audience.
"What's everyone's guilty pleasure?" came a voice from the audience, which turned out to be Future Classic head honcho Nathan McClay. And, well, here they are...
Murat Kilic (The Spice Cellar):"That Avicii track."
Chad Gillard (Future Classic):"Mariah Carey's beautiful."
Vic Edirisinghe (Astral People):"Call me baby my fave pop track of the year."
Robbie Lowe (DJ):"I still listen to Wham. I’m a kid of the 80s."
and then to finish...
James Ware (Waving At Trains):"Flume is my guilty pleasure."
What was that about selling out, fellas?
