How much would you sacrifice to see your favorite artist? According to Finnish newspaper Yle Uutiset, Frenchman Jordan Langlois trekked over 2,000 miles (3,500 kilometers) to see metal band Sonata Acrtica. The band’s keyboard player Henrik Klingenberg was shocked when he heard a knock on the door and saw Jordan standing there.

Langlois’ long journey took 140 days. “A lot of people ask if I’m crazy but I just wanted to do something different. When you’re walking you see things differently, and I’ll tell you a secret: I hate walking.”

He left his home in France in June and has since walked about 12 miles (20 kilometers) each day. His motivation? “I really just wanted to have a beer with the band.”

The band says that they typically turn away fans who come knocking on the door to meet them but Langlois received a warmer welcome because of the lengths he went through to get there. Sonata Arctica allowed the man to watch them make their new album and even took him to the sauna with them.
