Welcoming the first segment of ‘On the Road’ where we catch up with your favourite artists and gain some insight on them and their movements whilst they ply their trade in different regions around the globe.

This week we’re taking a look at Doctor Dru the Juedi Records mainstay, famous for tracks such as Anymore, U Don't Dance and notably the Voice of Dru. Hard to believe that Doctor Dru was once the lead drummer for R. Kelly and a hardcore skater now turned super producer. We caught up with Dru on his tour of the Americas, this is what he had to say:

So Dru, where have you played so far in the States and where can American fans still expect to see you? I've played in La Costa Mesa and San Francisco but at the moment I'm in Bogota for a few days off. I will be playing here on Thursday. Then I'm flying out to Mexico City on Saturday and after I will be chilling a few days in L.A. Then up to Montreal, New York and Miami and back to Europe.

What have the highlights been of your American tour so far? This whole tour is a highlight. Normally I would just travel and play from Thursdays to Sundays but now I am away for a whole month. You meet a lot of people in different countries, great food and different crowds. It is my first time playing Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. It's amazing to see the people’s reaction and to feel the mentality.

Compared to Europe how are you finding the fans and clubs so for? To begin with, it is so amazing to see that there are really fans all around the globe. It feels so unreal sometimes. I can't see a big difference to Europe in general. Maybe in South America the crowd is more excited and crazy than in the States. But in Europe you also have some scenes that are more laid back and others that are totally crazy.

Where's been the best place you've played so far? I would like to resume this at the end of the tour. So far I've had great fun. It was all totally different. I’ve Playing in front of 150 people to a 1000 people in small clubs and nice open air venues. So I'm excited for the rest of the tour.

Are there any projects, any tracks in the pipeline that we should be expecting? Be aware of a bomb coming on our label JEUDI Records. It's from Patrick Bhodi called "Babylon System". I personally have a few tracks almost done and testing them regularly at the moment. I will shape and finish them when I am back at home in my studio again. New things are coming for sure.
