To follow up Radio Slave's excellent instalment back in April - which saw Matt Edwards serve up a disc of deep throbbing house and techno and another which soaked up ambient and downtempo sounds - Balance Music has confirmed exclusively to Pulse that Balance 024 is in the safe hands of veteran UK jock Danny Howells.
Hailing from the English town of Hastings, Danny Howells' big break came in 1991 when John Digweed heard one of his mixtapes and invited him to become a resident DJ at the party's home of Heaven nightclub in London, where for nigh on a decade he honed his skills as a warm up DJ. During the progressive house boom of the early 00s Howells shot to prominence as one of the world's most in demand DJs, traveling the globe with his distinct brand of 'deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse' and was voted #10 in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs poll in 2001. No stranger to the mix compilation, Howells has turned in era defining mixes to the famed Global Underground, Renaissance and Azuli labels, which makes him a fitting and long overdue choice for the esteemed Balance series.
Balance 024 mixed by Danny Howells is scheduled for a mid-November release. Stay tuned to Pulse for more details and tracklisting coming soon.
