E.L.E – Everybody Love Everybody stands out amongst other events as it supports a movement where all proceedings are donated to an orphanage called St Janes De Chantal Home which takes care of HIV positive and abandoned children. The funds that have been raised from the party so far have helped so many of these children, and all the attendees have made this possible. Beats in the Bush is a party with a purpose that brings the love, hope, and light to so many.
We were taken slowly into the magical Friday evening as we explored our playground in the bush and noticed how the night-floor came to life with the extraordinary cluster of colorful umbrella’s that were illuminated over our heads. Ric Norte stirred us into his soulful sexy tunes inviting us into the Techno beats that followed into the dark hours. We gathered to jive under the moonlight, through the rainfall, and the last of us carried on jamming as ‘Good for Us’ (Cam with a K & Hurtmurphy) took us into the morning sunrise from 05h00-07h00.
After a power nap we were awakened to the scent of fresh rain from the night before which filled the air with an earthy aroma on Saturday morning. Many more smiling faces graced the party to enjoy the special treats ELE had to offer, not only visually, but we were also entertained with many games as well as beer pong, which I enjoyed taking part of. The day was glorious and filled with endless surprises.
The music moved onto the beach-floor in the daytime and we settled into the tasty Tech/House melodies under the sunshine in front of the jazzed-up mosaic mirrored bus - decorated by the E.L.E crew so beautifully, where the DJ’s played behind the decks. Justin Miller closed the day-floor with his deep and groovy underground sound. From then on, the night unfolded with Emma X bringing life to the evening floor with her progressive trippy Techno beats. Suffix set followed, capturing our souls and enlightening us through the journey he creates with his well thought out sound which bridges the gap between Techno and Psychedelic Trance.
Delirient hyped-up the dancefloor and captivated the crowd, taking us on a ride into his brilliantly thought out leads breaking into the high-powered energy of his dynamic bass lines and lively drops! The positive energy radiated amongst the crowd as we all let loose and explored the vibrations of the bass-grinding, psychedelic electro styles played by Slax.
A pleasantly hot sunny Sunday brought the party back to the beach with Progressive/Tech House beats dominating the dance floor with a line-up including our very own Jozi DJ’s, Metroticket, Prefix, and all the way from Cape town – Deadbeat FM and Dean Fuel. Party goers were sipping on their refreshing slushies poolside or breaking it down to the last of the banging beats. The music carried on way past the time it was meant to as Deadbeat FM took over the decks once again till sunset! This was such a treat, and the most satisfying way to end off the party.
E.L.E brought the freshest of vibes to such an intimate party. There was something for everyone. They have built a community which I am now proud to be a part of. It is evident how much love, passion, and the utmost attention to every little detail they put in to make this unforgettable experience stand out from all the rest. From the décor, the set-up of the 3 different dance floors - including the soothing beats coming through the campsite on the Reggae floor, the memorable Doctor Seuss quotes on signboards arranged around the bush, and the mini-lounges and hammocks settled in the shade under the trees.
There was a magical element that filled the air at this party. If you missed out on this one, be sure to be a part of the next E.L.E and party for a purpose! Thank you to the organizers and all involved in making this party so special. I feel rejuvenated from such a happy atmosphere and my heart is touched deeply.
