The pre-party for this year’s Guggenheim International Gala on Wednesday, November 6th will feature Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman, techno pioneer and the man behind the labels Plus8 and Minus. The event will celebrate and support the educational, curatorial, and research programs of the museum as well as its amazing collections of modern and contemporary art. The event will be hosted by the Guggenheim’s Young Collectors Council and sponsored by Dior.
The party will run from 6 to 9pm with Richie Hawtin giving a special show in the museum’s renowned rotunda. Matthew Hawtin, visual artist, DJ, and brother of Richie, will be opening the evening with a musical performance.
The funds raised at the gala will benefit the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation’s operation and will support the museum’s many initiatives and programs. Tickets for the event will be available to the public starting on October 7th.
