It’s been said, the Loeries weekend gets completely out of hand, but in the best way possible, and now with The Royal Family and Pulse Radio in town, together with Strange Loving, they plan on adding to the magnitude of the weekend of the 21st of September with something very special.
They have already secured international DJ Samu.l for the party on the Mandela Rhodes Place rooftop (see details) and if that is not enough for the night, they are kitting out Cape Town’s afterparty venue Republic Lounge into something that’s best described as an Audio/Visual love affair so that you can carry on the party to the early hours of the morning, with none other than one of Soulistic Music’s star players Culoe de Song.
Culoe’s music has been described as “epic African House with a strange touch,” while he sums it up as “a dramatic vibration of ‘the drum’.” Culoe’s chords sky-write while his rhythms writhe, and more than any other SA house artiste he’s managed to successfully segue international and local sounds – craftily mixing the best beats from both worlds.
The line-up of both the rooftop party and the afterparty will have you in crutches the next day as the dancefloor are what these guys do best - getting off the floor will not be easy, but who wants to do that anyway?!
