In light of a series of recent tragic events in the American EDM community, promoters have become more concerned about holding high-profile electronic music events. Electric Adventure at Six Flags New England amusement park was scheduled to be held on September 28th in Massachusetts but was just cancelled by organizers citing the two deaths at New York’s Electric Zoo.
People began suspecting a cancellation when the event decided to postpone its lineup announcement a few days ago:
Yesterday Electric Adventure finally announced that it is postponing the entire event until next year:
Fans reacted very negatively to this decision on the event’s Facebook page prompting organizers to release the following statement claiming that they felt putting on such an event right now was too risky given the sudden cancellation of last weekend’s Electric Zoo.
“Fedde Le Grand, Zeds Dead, Excision, and other marquee talent were all rumored to perform, but organizers felt that in light of the recent tragedy at Electric Zoo last weekend, the risk was too great for the park to take on the event at this time. All fans who have already purchased tickets will be fully refunded.”
Past editions of Electric Adventure have featured artists such as Excision, Dada Life, Dillon Francis, 12th Planet, Seven Lions, and Flosstradamus.
