andhim, the self-described "new boys in town" have made waves with their signature sound, a new genre for which they have coined the name "super house."  anhim started when Tobias and Simon, two friends with impressive musical backrounds came up with the idea after a tense competitive moment against each other at a Bavarian sausage eating competition.  The rest is history.  Hailing from Cologne, Germany, andhim's ever evolving sound has brought the duo all around the world from Germany to Ibiza to the United States.  We had a chance to catch up with the guys just as they are embarking on their US tour including a stop in New York at the TBA Brooklyn and Bespoke Musik boat party on Saturday, September 7th to discuss some of their summer tour highlights, why they love playing at Bespoke parties, and their thoughts on Miley Cyrus.

Be sure to get your tickets to the New York event on Pulse Radio!

You’re backstage at the VMAs and no one’s looking. Which one of you takes down Miley first?
We would team up for that and do a Spike Tombstone with her. By the way, is she trying to compete with Gene Simmons? What's up with her tongue? Is she a dog?

Bespoke Musik was the first promoter to bring you to New York and you have played for them several times since. What are your favorite aspects about their parties? Well, we like the fact that they've booked us three times so far. But seriously, Bespoke is awesome. We love the idea behind their parties and bookings. It is and was never about making money. Bespoke really wants to do something for the people and the scene, which is why they brought us three times so far.

Your Bespoke Musik podcast has only been up for four days and has already generated over 2,100 plays. Can you tell us a little about what went into this mix? What went in all of our work: Jizz, tears (from laughing) and a lot of beer.

You recently headlined Summer Session with Zombie Nation in Germany. What was that experience like and how did it feel to be listed above an artist best known for a hard trance anthem that's generated almost 23 million hits on YouTube? His sound has changed greatly in the time since its 1999 release, no? We actually didn't see him perform since we had another show before. But it is great to have the chance to play with many different artists. We met Woodkid, Alt–J and The Knife on our summer tour this year. It's interesting and inspiring to see all those artists performing.

It seems like you had a pretty great tour in July. What were some of your favorite parties that month? Not only in July. The whole year was awesome so far. But we had the chance to play at the Montreaux Jazz Festival which is the coolest music festival we've ever done. From David Bowie to Prince there are so many great artists that it was just an honour to be part of it. We also had our Ibiza debut this July with the Get Physical crew.
