Chinese doctors conducted a study recently which found that regular users of ketamine risk developing liver cancer.
During their research, the doctors discovered two K users suffering from liver fibrosis "leaving them with livers resembling those of 60-year-old alcoholics."
“If it goes untreated [liver fibrosis], say for three to five years, it may have developed into liver cancer by the time symptoms emerge and a transplant may be required,” liver expert Professor Grace Wong Lai-hung told the South China Morning Post.
The study examined 305 young ketamine users (180 of those female) who had taken the drug for six years and found that nearly all had greatly reduced bladder sizes. Despite bladder sizes increasing again amongst those who quit, doctors said "all patients had suffered irreversible damage" to their bladders.
So all those K-heads out there, take heed: Perhaps you need to think twice before racking up a massive line and abseiling down an epic K-hole?
